MANA is a national organization that empowers Latina women through leadership development, community service, education, and advocacy. The organization works to strengthen opportunities for Latinas and their families by supporting educational attainment, professional growth, cultural pride, and civic engagement.

Local chapters such as MANA del Norte (est. 1989) advances the MANA National mission at the community level by:
  • Providing scholarships and educational support for students in Northern New Mexico.
  • Promoting leadership and mentorship opportunities for Latina women and youth.
  • Encouraging community involvement and cultural awareness.
  • Supporting professional development and networking among members.
     
MANA del Norte to date has awarded $249,200 in scholarships.

?What is MANA del Norte

Scholarships

Apply for the MANA del Norte Scholarship!

In 2026 we will be awarding:
  • Ten (10) scholarships of $1,200 for hermanas pursuing associate or bachelor’s degrees
  • One (1) scholarship of $2,500 for a hermana pursuing a graduate degree
 
Eligibility:
Applicants must:
  • Identify as Hispana/Latina
  • Reside (currently or formerly) in Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, Santa Fe, San Miguel, or Taos County
  • Be enrolled (or planning to enroll) at least half-time in an accredited college or university for the 2026–2027 academic year
  • Have a minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need
Important Dates:
  • March 24: Application opens
  • June 24: Application deadline (all materials due)
  • July 31: Award notifications sent
  • September 19: Scholarship Awardee Luncheon (11:00–2:30 p.m., location TBD)
